Open Etsy’s security settings
- On Etsy.com, open your profile, then Account settings → Security.
- Under 2 factor authentication, select Turn on 2FA.
- Choose Authenticator App → Continue.
In the Etsy Seller app, the setting is under More → Account & app settings → 2 Factor authentication.
Add Etsy to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- Enter the current code on Etsy and confirm. Save its backup codes before selecting Complete.
If the service offers a setup key, you can enter it manually. Otherwise, use a second screen for the QR code. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Etsy and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Copy the backup codes now
Etsy shows the backup codes during setup. Save or copy them immediately and keep them securely outside your phone. Each nine-digit code is usable once.
If you lose access to your authenticator, sign in with your password and enter an unused backup code in the Security Code field. If you have none, use Etsy’s sign-in help.
Phone verification and repeated prompts
Etsy also offers calls and texts in supported countries. Check its official country list if the option is missing. It may request verification on a new device or browser and periodically afterward.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Etsy entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
