Enable two-factor authentication
- In Figma’s file browser, select your name in the top-left corner.
- Open Settings → Security → Enable two-factor authentication.
- Confirm your password and continue through authenticator setup until the enrollment barcode appears.
Add Figma to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- Enter the current six-digit code on Figma, choose Verify, then Continue to recovery codes.
If the service offers a setup key, you can enter it manually. Otherwise, use a second screen for the QR code. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Figma and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Save the recovery codes
Store the recovery codes somewhere secure that you can access without your phone. Keep them available before changing or resetting your device.
If you cannot access your usual method, use the recovery options offered on Figma’s sign-in screen. Contact Figma Support if you have no usable method.
SMS and single sign-on
Figma offers Send me an SMS instead during setup. If both SMS and an authenticator are configured, Figma asks for the app code first and lets you choose SMS instead.
For SSO accounts, your sign-in provider controls the second factor; a missing Figma 2FA setting can be expected.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Figma entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
