Register an authenticator method
- Open your GoDaddy Security page.
- Under Verification Methods, choose Add verification method.
- Select Authenticator app → Next.
Add GoDaddy to Sign In
Use Sign In, our authenticator app to generate codes on your iPhone.
- Display the enrollment QR code on another screen.
- In Sign In, tap Add → Scan QR Code, scan it, review the details, then tap Add Account.
- Enter the current Sign In code in GoDaddy, supply an app name such as Sign In, then choose Next.
Keep the QR code private. If you are setting up on one iPhone and no manual setup option is displayed, open the enrollment page on a second screen.
Require verification at sign-in
Return to the Security page. Under Enhanced Security, turn on 2-Step Verification. GoDaddy will then request your default verification method when you sign in.
Registering a method alone protects high-risk actions and suspicious sign-ins; this extra switch changes the regular sign-in requirement.
Add a backup method
GoDaddy recommends an additional verification method, ideally on a different device. Available options include SMS, passkeys or security keys, and approvals in GoDaddy’s own app.
If every method is unavailable, follow GoDaddy’s account-access recovery instructions. Keep verification contact details current; changing a profile phone number does not necessarily update your verification number.
If a code does not work
Make sure the GoDaddy entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
