Open Cloud Manager security settings
- Open your username menu and choose Login & Authentication.
- These steps apply when Cloud Manager is your login method.
- Configure all three security questions under Security Settings.
- Turn on the Two-Factor Authentication switch.
Add Linode to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- Paste the current code into Cloud Manager’s Token field and click Confirm Token. Save the scratch code.
Cloud Manager provides both a QR code and a secret setup key. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Linode and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Save your scratch code
Store the scratch code securely outside your phone. It replaces an authenticator code once; after use, save the replacement Cloud Manager supplies.
To change phones while you have access, use Reset two-factor authentication in the same settings and enroll the replacement. If your authenticator and scratch code are unavailable, follow Akamai’s recovery procedure. Support requires enough information to verify ownership.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Linode entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
