ROCKSTAR GAMES ACCOUNT GUIDE

How to enable 2FA on Rockstar Games

Add authenticator verification to the Rockstar Games account you use for its games and online services. Verify your account email before beginning enrollment.

Open Rockstar account security

  1. Sign in to Rockstar Games and select the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Open Account → Manage Account → Security.
  3. Start two-step verification enrollment and keep the displayed QR code or secret key available.

Add Rockstar Games to Sign In

You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.

  1. With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
  2. Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
  3. Enter the current code and your Rockstar password on the setup page, then choose Verify.

Rockstar offers a Secret Key as an alternative to scanning. Use that key for setup on the same iPhone. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Rockstar Games and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.

Keep access before changing phones

Retain your existing authenticator until the replacement is confirmed. Keep your account email accessible. Rockstar’s setup instructions do not document a printable backup-code set, so do not assume one will be available.

If you lose the enrolled authenticator, follow Rockstar’s official lost-phone guidance and contact support for help verifying ownership.

If a code does not work

Make sure the Rockstar Games entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.

Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
