Open Nord Account MFA settings
- Sign in to your Nord Account. Open your account-name menu and choose Account Settings.
- Select Multi-factor authentication (MFA) → Manage MFA.
- Verify your email using the code Nord sends.
- Choose Set up beside Authenticator app.
On mobile, Account Settings is near the bottom of the navigation menu.
Add Nord Account to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- In Nord Account, choose Continue, enter the current code from Sign In, then save the backup codes before finishing.
Nord displays a setup key alongside the QR code for manual entry. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Nord Account and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Keep backup access available
Copy or print Nord’s backup codes and store them securely outside your phone. Each is usable once. You can view or regenerate them from the MFA settings after email verification.
If your phone is unavailable, choose See other options → Enter one of your backup codes at sign-in. After regaining access, follow Nord’s instructions to replace the authenticator. If neither method is available, use Nord’s official recovery help.
Security keys
Nord also supports security keys, including compatible USB, NFC, and Bluetooth devices. Review the supported options in your MFA settings.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Nord Account entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
