Open Riot’s account-security settings
Sign in to your Riot account page and find Multi-Factor Authentication. Choose the authenticator-app enrollment option and follow the prompts shown for your account.
Riot’s help confirms support but does not publish every enrollment-screen label. If no authenticator option is shown, consult Riot Support instead of scanning a QR code intended for a different sign-in method.
Add Riot Games to Sign In
Use Sign In, our authenticator app, for codes on your iPhone.
- If the service displays an enrollment QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- If it offers a setup key instead, choose Add → Enter Setup Key. Label Service as Riot Games and Account with your account name, then paste the secret into Key.
- Review the entry and tap Add Account.
- Return to Riot and enter the current code to confirm enrollment. Check that the account page confirms the method is active.
Keep the setup key private. If you only have one iPhone and no manual key is offered, open the enrollment page on a second screen.
Email and service-native approvals
Riot offers email verification and approvals through its own mobile service. Its email-enrollment flow sends an activation link to your account inbox. Keep that inbox protected and accessible.
Riot requires email MFA before enrolling its mobile approval method; that requirement should not be assumed to describe the separate authenticator flow.
Keep a fallback available
Review the methods enabled on your account before changing phones. Do not assume Riot issues authenticator backup codes. Use an available alternative at sign-in if your codes are unavailable.
If account-verification emails go to an inbox you cannot access, contact Riot Player Support. Only remember a sign-in on a device you control.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Riot Games entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
