Turn on Zoom two-step verification
- Sign in to Zoom’s web portal and open Profile → Sign In.
- Beside Two-Step Verification, choose Turn On, enter your password, and continue.
- Choose Authentication App → Set Up. Confirm your password if requested.
Add Zoom to Sign In
You can use Sign In, our authenticator app for codes on your iPhone.
- With the setup QR code on another screen, open Sign In and tap Add → Scan QR Code.
- Scan the code, review the account details, and tap Add Account.
- In Zoom, choose Next, enter the current six-digit code, and select Verify.
If the service offers a setup key, you can enter it manually. Otherwise, use a second screen for the QR code. In Sign In, choose Add → Enter Setup Key, set Service to Zoom and Account to your account name, paste the secret into Key, then tap Add Account. Keep this key private.
Save recovery codes
Download or print the recovery codes, store them securely away from your phone, then choose Done. You can view them later in your Profile’s two-step settings.
If your phone is unavailable
At sign-in, choose Try another way → Recovery codes and use an unused code. A managed account’s administrator can help reset its two-step setup if needed. For an individual account, follow Zoom Support’s recovery options.
Other methods and new devices
SMS or phone-call verification may be offered, depending on account policy. In Profile’s two-step settings, Change Device starts authenticator replacement. Keep your existing access until the replacement is confirmed.
If a code does not work
Make sure the Zoom entry in Sign In matches the account you are using. Wait for a fresh code, then enter it before it changes. If fresh codes keep failing, check that your iPhone uses automatic date and time.
Keep a working sign-in session and your recovery information available while resolving the problem. Adding an entry to Sign In does not finish enrollment: the service must accept a code and confirm activation.
